Q: Do I need to have a medical license to volunteer?

A: No. We do need some non-medical assistance. Volunteers are able to help in administration, patient registration, office assistance, data entry and more. Students are welcome to volunteer and there are often opportunities to gain additional experience as you build your comfort level and skills by consistently volunteering.


Q: What kind of licensed medical professionals are you looking for?

A: Medical:  MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, MA, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, Dietitians and any medical specialist.

Dental:  Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Asisstants.

Q: What are some specific non-medical volunteer opportunities?

A: We need volunteers to provide computer support (IT) and help in connecting our patients to social services (such as Medicaid). We can also use people who are great at social media, website design and fundraising.


Q: I speak Spanish, how can I help?

A: The majority of our clients speak Nepalese, Arabic, Burmese, and some of them Spanish. While you may not be able to use your Spanish here every day, we still need you!


Q: Do you provide internships for students, nursing students and pre-med students?

A: Yes. Students are welcome to help. Some of our interns in the past have helped us with Physical Therapy, Website Design, Content Development & Photography. Students interested in the medical field will be able to help taking vitals as well as supporting experienced doctors who volunteer their time to help the community.


Q: If I'd like to volunteer, what is my expected commitment?

A: We recommed all of our volunteers commit to volunteering at least one time each month. If you are a licensed medical professional who cannot commit to once a month, please email us at [email protected] to see if we can find a schedule that works for you.


Q: How long are the volunteer shifts?

A: Shifts vary depending on the day. A new SignUp Genius link is sent out each month. You sign yourself up for the shift(s) that work best for you. The clinic is consistently open Tuesday mornings (10am-1:30pm), Wednesday evenings (630-830pm) and the 2nd Saturday morning of each month (9am-12:30pm). There are also special clinic days/times that come up each month.
