ABOUT US

Reducing Barriers to Healthcare for Over a Decade

Hope Clinic, located in Austin, Texas, had humble beginnings in 2010 when a group of providers saw a need for compassionate healthcare access in underserved communities. This small group began seeing patients one by one, often making old-fashioned house calls. As the need continued to grow, the vision and passion grew as well and in 2012 Get Up Project was created, becoming the organizational structure for what is now known as Hope Medical Clinic.

The name Get Up Project is based on a Bible verse from Mark 2:10-11:

So Jesus said to the man, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

Experienced and dedicated healthcare professionals as well as non-clinical administrators give hours of their valuable time to care for our patients and are the heart and soul of the facility. As of February 2021, there are three part-time employees who work with the volunteers to keep the clinic running smoothly. Clinic leadership is dedicated to serving those in transitional life situations, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or religious affiliation.

In 2019 we provided over 750 encounters for neighbors needing help with everything from strep throat to diabetes and from hypertension to minor injuries, all at no cost. The clinic is 100% supported by donations and grants. Patients often give $10 toward their care, but are never turned away for inability to donate.

We are always seeking individuals, churches, organizations and grant-makers that would be interested in joining us in this mission. If your group would like to know more, we are happy to have you in for a tour, speak to you in person, or on Zoom. Please use Contact Us if you would like to know more!
